The Little Spoon Way hideme What do I do when my order arrives? Your meals will arrive cold and packed with ice—be sure to pop them in the fridge or freezer as soon as possible. Don’t worry if anything froze in transit, they’ll naturally thaw in the fridge or stay frozen in the freezer. All of our meals stay fresh in the fridge for 2 weeks and our Babyblends, Biteables, Smoothies and Plates can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. Our snacks do not need to be refrigerated. How do I heat my meals? Try serving our blends at different temperatures. Warm from the fridge by placing the container in a dish of warm water or transferring the blend to a microwave-safe dish + heating in 15-second increments. Frozen Babyblends can be thawed in the fridge overnight or in a bowl of warm water for 20 minutes. For Plates + Biteables, you can pop them in the microwave as is or transfer the food to an oven safe dish + heat in the oven for a crispy finish—each meal comes with preferred heating instructions and can be heated from frozen. For Lunchers, simply enjoy straight from the fridge. If you are taking a Luncher on the go, simply place it into an insulated bag or lunch box with a frozen gel pack. Look out for signs of readiness in your baby like sitting up independently, showing interest in + reaching for food, good head and neck control. Of course, we recommend consulting your pediatrician before making any mealtime decisions. What foods should I introduce first? We suggest starting with simple, single-ingredient Babyblends like Pear or Butternut Squash or introducing whole soft foods like avocado or banana. What if they reject the food? Introducing food to your babe is a slow process. They might reject the food you put in front of them altogether the first few times. In fact, it can take up to 15 exposures for a kiddo to accept a new food. If you are struggling to get your babe to try a new ingredient, try adding a familiar food or even breastmilk or formula. Consistency is key! How do I help my baby develop their fine motor skills? Little Spoon’s Baby Puffs help encourage self feeding skills while also supplementing meal + snacktime. That’s why they are offered in 2 different shapes, Banana Pitaya Rings and Kale Apple Curls , perfect for babies to develop fine motor skills and practice their grasping technique. Created alongside a speech pathologist, each shape is made for tiny hands to learn to grasp, pinch and chew. Does Little Spoon’s menu grow as my baby does?
